A Mother’s Struggle

Erika is a single mother to two young children, Ailiyah, 5, and Jeremiah, 7. Her diagnosis came just one day before Mother’s Day in 2022. This news changed her life and the lives of her children forever.

Despite her diagnosis, Erika continued to work full-time. She only took time off for treatments and surgeries. Over the past two years, she underwent numerous biopsies, radiation, and chemotherapy sessions. Unfortunately, her treatments became ineffective in September 2024.

Planning for the Future

With her treatments no longer working, Erika has been given only three months to live. She has decided to spend this time with her children and loved ones. Erika is now planning her own funeral. She wants to ensure her children are taken care of after her passing.

Erika started a GoFundMe page to raise funds for her funeral and to support her children. Her initial goal was $5,000. However, the fundraiser has surpassed $750,000. This overwhelming support shows the community’s compassion and generosity.
